Matthew Chapter 17
I couldn’t help but be completely stopped as I read these verses over and over.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
These verses got me thinking about our requests we lay at the feet of Jesus. Someone once told me, “don’t pick up what you’ve already placed at His feet.” While reading Matthew 17:19-20, I was reminded of that simple saying. If we have faith in Jesus, then when we are tempted to worry, stress or fear, we can pray about it and persist in trustful obedience. The real issue here isn’t about letting go, but continuing to trust and have faith that He has it? Let our hearts always be seeking a faith that once we give our lives, problems, concerns, children, families, etc. to Jesus, we no longer struggle wondering if He can handle it. My prayer today is for a renewal of simple faith that does not question that our Father is working it out for us. Exchange your great fear today for a simple trust in our great God!
Sending love, peace, & prayers!
