Matthew Chapter 18

Daily Thought

How does one begin to break down the richness of Matthew 18 in just one paragraph? If I had to pick only one word to sum up the chapter, it would be “humility.” How can we be effective for the Kingdom? Be humble. How can we forgive those that sin against us? By being humble and remembering when we have been forgiven. And finally, how can we make sure that we never fall into the “unmerciful servant” kind of thinking? By humbly remembering how very much Jesus has forgiven us. Humility is the ultimate strength against the powers and principalities that war against us. Humility is the work in us that promotes love.
