Day 32

Mark Chapter 4

Daily thought to go along with each day’s reading.

Thursday, July 19th

Mark Chapter 4

Daily Thought

In Mark chapter 4, we read some of Jesus’ most famous teachings. The parables he would give to the masses and the explanations he would give in private to his disciples. His disciples would have sat at his feet for hours both with crowds around them and in private, gleaning whatever information they could from him. Almost as if he wanted to test their faith versus their head knowledge, Jesus takes the opportunity of a violent storm to take a nap. What a beautiful picture of our Lord that when he’s awoken from his nap, he rebukes the wind and the waves but not his disciples. He turns to them gently and simply asks, ” Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

We have reached day 32 of this 90-day challenge. Pray today that not only have you gleaned information about our Lord from this study but that your head knowledge will be used to increase the faith of your heart.

Draw near to God during the week with our “thought for the day” based on each day’s readings.
