Day 43

Mark Chapter 15

Daily thought to go along with each day’s reading.

Mark Chapter 15

Daily Thought

Mark chapter 15 brings us to the Apex of Christ’s Earthly suffering. After being mocked and scorned by the Sanhedrin in front of the top rulers of the Roman occupation, he is then condemned and handed it over to be brutalized. Although it is grueling and difficult to think about what Christ endured, it is also such a beautiful picture of complete surrender to the will of The Father. The most beautiful phrase in the Bible is when Jesus cries out “Tetelestai”, a phrase meaning “paid in full” or “it is finished”. Thank you Jesus for such a gift.  A sacrifice of not only the physical, but of the mind and will as well. May we always remember and hold firm that our salvation was bought with so much love and so freely given to “whomsoever shall come”. Amen
