Luke Chapter 3
In Luke 3, John the Baptist is clearing the way for our Lord, urging those around him to repent and turn to God. When others suggest that he is the Christ, he corrects them and points them to the true Way to the Father. When they ask what they must do to live correctly, he teaches with grace and truth.
When we are salt and light to those around us, we should be thinking always about how we are clearing the way for Christ to move in their lives. We should never take any glory for our own, but rather point to Jesus when asked about our hope or accomplishments. We should correct with gentleness and grace, but refuse to have dealings in sin. In this way, we can magnify God in everything that we do and bring His kingdom on earth.
