Luke Chapter 9
Jesus: ” Who do the crowds say I am”?
Disciples: “John the Baptist, Elijah, really just about anybody that fits their need. ”
Jesus: “But what about you? Who do you say I am? “
Some of the most powerful lines of questioning within the word of God. The two questions Jesus asked his disciples here we should ask ourselves daily in order to keep us grounded in truth and not allow the enemy’s lies to take root in our minds.
Start your day by first asking, “who really is Jesus?” And then pray and seek his word in a way that will allow God to reveal his character to you fresh every day.
Then secondly ask Jesus, “Lord, who do you say I am”? Then allow his word to wash over your mind. Give him permission to search Your heart and remove any lies that the enemy might have been able to place there.
Knowing exactly who we serve and who he has created us to be are two of the most powerful things that set Christianity apart from other world religions. Who is Jesus? And who does Jesus say I am? are important questions that we should be asking daily to be reminded. He says “ask, and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find.”
