1 Thessalonians 2:4 – “…we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not intending to please people, but to please God, who examines our hearts.” (NASB)
If you have put your faith in Christ, you have been entrusted with the greatest gift to mankind, Jesus Christ.
If you are looking for motivation today, look no further than the fact that you have been called by God, to once again, give your allegiance to Christ. Every day you wake up, you are waking up into the service of the king. There are many people and things trying to grab your focus and attention away from His service, are you staying on task? Jesus repeatedly reminds us that where our treasures (highest priorities) are, there also will be our hearts (our highest loyalties; see Matt 6:19–21; Luke 12:21, 32–34).
God has entrusted you with something of great value – relationship and service to His Son Jesus Christ. Let His calling inspire you into prayer and readiness to engage the needs around you. The Apostle Paul continually reminded the first church, if we are still worried about pleasing people, we are not truly servants of Christ (Gal. 1:10).
Heavenly Father, thank you for entrusting me with being a part of your service to the world. Thank you for giving my life purpose and value. Help me to be faithful to Jesus today by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
