James 1:14 – “…each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.”
One of the powerful components of artificial intelligence is its ability to see what captures our attention. Those who have been directly involved in the development of social media will tell you that you are being studied to see not only what you will look at but also for how long.
In the same way, the Bible explains that our adversary, the devil, is studying us and trying to entice us away from God’s ways into the indulgence of what God forbids. The Bible speaks to the deceitfulness of lust. We are tempted to think that indulging in something that God forbids won’t really bring anything of great consequence. But we must remember Jesus’ warning, the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He is cunning and he is ruthless. Thankfully, Jesus is greater and has equipped us with means of grace to overcome the devil’s tactics.
Does Jesus Christ and His will have your full attention? Are you putting up boundaries to protect yourself from the enemy’s attacks? Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked, a person reaps whatever they sow.
Heavenly Father, please help us to keep our eyes on you and remember that apart from you we cannot live a God honoring life. Amen.
